For the past few years I lived all over the place through The Netherlands. I stayed at several places in the north, middle and south of our country. It brought me a lot. I learned that The Netherlands is really a big city in the country called Europe. Thats the way I see it. The Netherlands are almost to small. In Europe’s rise to globalism The Netherlands seems to me to be a big city with nearly 16 miljon people. From this point of view I feel the need to cross the borders. I want to go international or even global. I was born in The Netherlands, grow up in Germany, have french family and love all the other countries in Europe. I even love to be on this planet. There are a lot of countries with a lot of differences in the way people life, think and experience life. So in essence I might be a cosmopolitan. On the other hand, there is a lot happening in the world. As over the last thousands of years we will always be in an evolution regarding our consiousness. We are now in a stage where we went through a phase of individualism and where we come from a scientific mindset of determinism. Since the middle of the 20th century sciences as quantum mechanics and congnitive pshycology took a flight. Insights from these sciences leads us towards a vision where we:
A. need to be aware of our own uniqueness; an outcome from the phase of individualism
B. the way we create the future; individual and together, and
C. an approach towards our environment were we see it as a whole in stead of looking at it in pieces. Or, if you like you could say: look at it in a more holistic way instead of a deterministic way.
As an outcome, I decided to turn my personal website in a more global common language: English. Together with this step I also decided to set a personal goal: running up for the Certificate of Proficiency in English given by the Local Examinations Syndicate of the University of Cambridge in cooperation with the British Council. So this is my first English post!
